Layered Lip Looks | 5MF

Ever looked at two lip products and instantly thought they would pair beautifully? After opening some birthday presents to find a Bobbi Brown lipstick and a KIKO gloss, I knew I had my go-to, everyday, lip-combo down.

For today’s Five Minute Fix, I decided to share with you two lip looks which I have been loving recently – both a nude and a girly pink. I always find that the final step of doing your make-up, the lips, is what pulls the whole look together. I, for one, would never go out bare lipped; a slick of Vaseline at least is a must!DSC06983DSC06982

The first lipstick pairing I want to talk about is a gorgeous nude; this nude is slightly less ‘nude’ than the regular ‘nudes’ – too much nude?! What I mean by this, is that this shade is a bit darker and less subtle than the typical neutral lip, but I think it works really well and would definitely suit most skin tones. I begin by using the ‘Artdeco Soft Lip Liner’ in the shade 19, a muted, brown-y pink – similar to MAC’s Soar. Using this, I outline my lips, you may feel you want to very slightly over draw to give you fuller lips, and then fill them in to give a lovely, long-lasting base. On top of this, I apply the ‘Rimmel Lasting Finish’ lipstick in ‘077 Asia’. This is a creamy nude which pairs perfectly with the Artdeco liner, producing an original nude shade with great staying power – win win!dfghjk

As mentioned previously, last week I kindly received an AMAZING Bobbi Brown lipstick from two of my friends. Before my birthday, Bobbi Brown was uncharted territory for me – can you believe it? I’d honestly never owned a BB product, and clearly something was wrong. They gave me the lipstick with the pretty name of ‘Ballerina Shimmer’ which I think it really cute and describes the shade perfectly. It’s a girly, true pink with small flecks of glitter giving your lips a radiant, plump look. Another positive, apart from the the beautiful texture, is that the formula is so buildable that you can create a sheer wash of colour or layer it up to give an opaque shade with a shimmering finish. Which of these two looks are your favourite? I’m swaying towards the girly pink – mainly due to the fact it’s a new addition to my favourite lip looks! I hope you enjoyed today’s 5MF – don’t forget to check out my last post here and enter my giveaway. You have one week left so get entering!

    • Fresh – that’s the perfect description! I wore it today and it’s so lovely. When it fades, it always leaves some light glitter on your lips which makes them look so nice too! x
